We respect the privacy of our website visitors and other consumers with whom we interact. This Privacy Notice provides details about how Knowledge Compounders, Inc., doing business as Papyrus, Papyrus.ai, and Papyrus.io (collectively, “Papyrus,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information we collect through our websites and other online and offline services we provide (collectively, the “Services”).

I. Personal Information Collection

We collect two types of personal information from consumers: (1) information provided by consumers when they interact with us; and (2) information passively collected from consumers when they use our Services.

  • Information Provided by Consumers. We collect personal information voluntarily provided to us, such as when a consumer contacts us via our Services or otherwise interacts with us. We typically collect the following categories of personal information in this manner:
    • Contact details, such as name, email address, address, and telephone number
    • Professional information, such as employer, title, and business contact information
    • Audio/electronic recordings, such as public videos or webinars provided via URL and/or uploaded user files.
    • Inferences drawn from any of the information listed above to create a profile about you reflecting your preferences, characteristics, behavior, and attitudes
  • Information Passively Collected from Consumers. We collect personal information passively through our Services, such as via cookies and other tracking technologies. This information may include:
    • IP addresses, mobile advertising IDs, and other unique identifiers
    • Geolocation data, such as device location
    • Inferences drawn from any of the information listed above to create a profile about you reflecting your preferences, characteristics, behavior, and attitudes

II. Purposes for Processing Personal Information

We collect, process, and disclose the personal information we collect about consumers to:

  • Provide our products and services to you
  • Manage, analyze, and improve our products and services
  • Communicate with consumers
  • Analyze and better understand consumers’ needs, preferences, and interests
  • Conduct internal business analysis and research
  • Advertise and promote our products and services, including by contacting consumers regarding products, services, and topics that may be of interest to them
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, and enforce our rights and policies
  • Administer, monitor, and secure our information technology systems, websites, applications, databases, and devices, including detecting and preventing against security incidents and fraudulent activity

We may also aggregate and/or anonymize personal information and analyze those data for statistical or any other purposes permitted by law.

We may disclose the categories of personal information listed in Section I to the below entities:

  • To vendors who process personal information on our behalf, including vendors who provide data hosting, information technology support, email hosting, marketing and analytics services, and other services for the operation of our business. We impose contractual limitations on our vendors’ use of personal information they collect in conjunction with providing services to us.

We may also disclose personal information we collect in the following situations:

  • To protect our rights, defend or pursue a legal claim, or investigate or prosecute illegal activities
  • To government or judicial authorities to comply with a subpoena, court order, governmental inquiry, legal process, legal obligation, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of other users or the public
  • To a successor entity or purchaser upon a merger, consolidation, or other corporate reorganization in which we participate, a sale of all or a portion of our assets, or pursuant to a financing arrangement. In this situation, we will seek assurances that the successor entity or purchaser will process personal information collected by us in accordance with this notice.

We may also disclose aggregated and/or anonymized data to any other entities to the extent permitted by law.

IV. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under age 13 and are not designed to attract the attention of anyone under age 13. Further, for compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under age 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected personal information from your child in error, please contact us immediately at [email protected] so that we can make reasonable efforts to promptly remove all personal information from the child from our systems.

V. Third-Party Links on Our Services

Our Services may contain links to websites owned by other entities. If you decide to use these links, you will leave our Services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such third parties, and we make no representations or endorsements about them. If you decide to leave our Services to access third party links, it will be at your own risk, and you should be aware that this Privacy Notice will no longer govern. VI. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to promote the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal information in our possession or control. Such measures are designed to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, while the security of your personal information is of the utmost importance to us, we cannot fully guarantee the security of any information you choose to disclose online. Any information you choose to disclose to us is done at your own risk.

VII. Disclosures for Certain U.S. Residents

  • Sales & Targeted Advertising. We do not sell personal information or process personal information for purposes of targeted advertising.
  • Opt-Out Preference Signals. We do not currently recognize opt-out preference signals because we do not sell personal information.
  • Data Subject Requests. Residents of some states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Montana, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Virginia have certain rights with respect to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information. Depending on your state of residence, these may include, for example, rights to access, delete, correct, and obtain a copy of your personal information.   • Authorized Agents & Verification. You may also authorize an agent to make data subject requests on their behalf. In such instances, authorized agents may use the same methods as you to submit the requests on your behalf. To verify your identity and protect your personal information, we may ask the requestor to provide information that will enable us to verify your identity in order to comply with your data subject request, such as asking your agent to provide proof of signed permission from you, or ask you to confirm with us directly that you provided the agent with permission to submit the request. In some instances, we may decline to honor your request if an exception applies under applicable law.
  • Data Subject Request Appeals. If we deny your request, you may have the right to appeal, depending on your state of residence, and you can do so by contacting us at the contact information provided below. If you submit an appeal, please enclose or specifically reference your initial request so that we may appropriately assess and respond to your appeal. We will process your requests and any subsequent appeals in accordance with applicable law.

VIII. Additional Disclosures

  • California Residents Under Age 18. If you are a California resident under the age of 18 and a registered user of our website, you may ask us to remove content or data that you have posted to the website by writing to [email protected]. Please note that your request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or data as, for example, some of your content or data may have been reposted by another user.
  • Direct Marketing for California Residents. California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits California residents to annually request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to other entities for their direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not disclose personal information to other entities for their direct marketing purposes.
  • Disclosure for Nevada Consumers. We do not sell “Covered Information” as defined under Nevada law. Under Nevada law, you have the right to direct us to not sell your Covered Information to third parties, as defined under Nevada law.
